Apply for
residency

Stand-up comedians can now apply for residency at Steel City AF! Residencies will be in the Martin House, the 3BR detached house next to the main building. Residents will have access to the communal space in the main building as well, including the gym, editing bays, digital broadcast equipment, podcasting equipment, and more.

Before you apply, make sure you understand that this is a cooperative living situation. You will be expected to be a positive member of the community, which includes cleaning up after yourself, respecting your housemates and neighbors, and not compromising anyone’s safety or personal space (including your own). There will be a code of conduct to which each resident must adhere.

There will be no cost to residents for rent, utilities, or equipment. All residents will be expected to create! You will own 100% of what you create, but no one is at Steel City AF to sit on a couch and pass time. Residents are chosen for their talent, their work ethic, and their desire to both learn and mentor.

Residencies will typically be in 9-month increments, and every three months one resident leaves and a new one arrives.

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis and will be evaluated every three months, so please get yours in ASAP.

There will be three rounds of applications. The first is a quick submission. Semi-finalists will be asked to answer a series of longer form questions. Finalists will be interviewed.
